OFC Funds

The bulk of the OFC’s funds are invested in the COIF Charities Investment Fund, a Common Investment Fund (CIF). CIF’s are common funds that are charities in their own right and regulated by the Charity Commission for England and Wales. The COIF Charities Investment Fund enables charities to obtain professional management and diversification at reasonable cost.

The objectives of the Fund are:

  • Over the course of a business cycle to achieve an average total return each year of inflation plus 5%.
  • Within this to maintain the true value of income after inflation.
  • To limit volatility to 75% or less of that of the UK equity market.

The OFC’s funds are invested so that their real value and that of the income earned is protected as far as possible from the effects of inflation. The trustees of the Charity achieve this through the COIF Charities Investment Fund, a Common Investment Fund regulated by the Charity Commission for England and Wales.
