The Oxford Farming Conference announces three new Directors

A scientist, a farmer and a food chain specialist join The Oxford Farming Conference (OFC) as its three new directors. Dr Tina Barsby of NIAB, Al Brooks - Farms' Manager at Waddesdon Estate and Philip Wilkinson, Executive Director at 2 Sisters Food Group will give their time voluntarily for a three year term until January 2016.

The Council is made of a group of nine people who are committed to, and active within, the agricultural industry. The Director’s role is to work with the rest of the team to deliver the Conference programme, speakers and the extended activities now linked to the OFC such as the Summer Arable Conference at the Cereals Event. The team is supported by a professional secretariat, marketing consultancy and a treasurer.

“We welcome the skills and contacts that Tina, Al and Philip will bring to the OFC. We need directors who have passion and a breadth of experience in the agri-food or land management sectors - and we certainly have that in the team,” explains Adrian Ivory, Co-Chairman of the 2014 Oxford Farming Conference alongside Julian Gairdner.

The other directors on the board are: Tom Hind, Julian Gairdner, Adrian Ivory, Richard Whitlock, John Giles and Andrew Brown. The treasurer is David Turner and the secretary is Ann Newbold. Marketing and media relations for the conference is undertaken by Jane Craigie.

The Oxford Farming Conference will be seeking applications from new directors from March 2013, details will be posted at www.ofc.org.uk
