Oxford Farming Conference opens applications for Inspire 2027, supporting the next generation of agricultural talent

The Oxford Farming Conference (OFC) has opened applications for Inspire, its unique development programme designed to support emerging leaders across food, farming and the wider rural economy.

Inspire offers ambitious individuals ages 30-45 the chance to attend OFC for the first time, build their networks, strengthen their leadership skills and gain fresh perspective at a pivotal moment for the industry. More than 145 alumni have taken part in the programme, with many going on to launch new ventures, shift career direction, take on board roles and collaborate across disciplines, reflecting the programme’s long-standing role as a catalyst for positive change.

The 2027 Inspire Programme will be managed by OFC Director Kelly Hewson-Fisher, a graduate of the Inspire Programme and Head of Rural Research at Savills.

“Inspire is about creating opportunities for people who want to contribute positively to the future of our industry. It brings together a group of aspiring leaders with different backgrounds, experiences and perspectives, and gives them the space to learn from one another, challenge their thinking and build connections that last beyond the conference.

Reflecting on his time as part of the 2026 Inspire cohort, Adam Godwin said,

“The Inspire Programme has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my farming career. Being part of OFC gave me the chance to connect with industry leaders, innovators and fellow farmers, and opened the door to opportunities I would never otherwise have experienced. The programme challenged my thinking, grew my confidence and showed me the value of conversations and listening. It is an experience that has stayed with me long after the conference ended.”

The programme is delivered with support from BASF Agricultural Solutions and REAL Success Ltd, who help bring the Inspire experience to life through activities including personal development days in London and sessions at the conference.

The programme includes two pre-conference Inspire Days in London in November, a full ticket to the 2027 Oxford Farming Conference from 6 – 8 January themed “Harmony” including accommodation, Chair’s Welcome Reception, Christ Church Dinner and the OFC Oxford Union Debate. Participants will also join a network of over 145 alumni who continue to connect and collaborate post OFC.
